Our Products and Their Use

Our incenses are available in 33 distinct scents. Recently, some of these fragrances are also offered in other formats: scented candles, reed diffusers (capilla), sprays, and soaps. Over time, a selection of these 33 scents will be progressively offered in these new formats to enhance your olfactory experience.

Currently, in addition to incense, Insensum produces scented candles, reed diffusers, sprays, and solid soaps. Soon, we will also offer liquid soaps and hand lotions.

The fundamental difference lies in the composition, the quality of the ingredients, and the manufacturing method.

  • Insensum Incense:We offer a traditional and pure incense of the “Greek scented incense” type.
    • Composition:Made from a pure natural resin (mainly Olibanum) and enriched with fragrances of the highest possible natural composition. These scents are created exclusively for Insensum by the renowned master perfumers of the Robertet
    • Usage:It is burned on charcoal or a low-heat incense burner (for example, using a tea light candle), ensuring a slow and pure diffusion of the aromas, without chemical binders.
  • Classic Incense Sticks:Generally composed of a bamboo stick covered with a charcoal or wood paste. This paste contains binders and often synthetic fragrances, necessary to maintain the shape and ensure self-combustion.

By choosing Insensum incense, you opt for an authentic, superior, and healthier olfactory experience, based on the quality of natural resins and the expertise of high-calibre perfumers.

Choosing an incense is a sensory and highly personal experience. To best guide you in your online selection, our product descriptions are structured around two distinct descriptions:

  1. Short Description (Perfume Profile):Technical and practical, this lists the main perfumery ingredients (top, heart, and base notes) that make up the fragrance. Ideal if you know your ingredient preferences (e.g., if you like Myrrh, Vanilla, or Sandalwood).
  2. Long Description (The ‘Eulogy’):More poetic and immersive, this description depicts the character, ambiance, and emotions the scent is intended to evoke, helping you imagine the atmosphere created.

Still unsure? If you wish to discover the scents before committing, you have the option to order our samples (in packs of 10). This is the ideal way to test different fragrances in the comfort of your home and find the one that perfectly resonates with your expectations.

To burn our incense (to melt the grains so they release their fragrance), small round and flat charcoals specially designed for this purpose are generally used.

  1. Light the charcoal with a flame until it becomes red hot.
  2. Place it in a censer or incense burner.
  3. Using a small spoon or tweezers, place a few grains of incense on the charcoal.

There are also other types of incense burners that use a tea light candle. This type of combustion produces less smoke and is often better suited for domestic use. An incense burner of this type, specially developed for Insensum, will be available soon.

Usage Tips for Insensum Scented Candles: For optimal and safe use of your scented candles:

  • Storage:Keep candles upright, away from direct sunlight or excessive heat sources to preserve their fragrance.
  • Placement:Place them on a heat-resistant surface, away from drafts, fabrics, or any flammable products.
  • Wick:For optimal burning, trim the wick to 0.5 – 0.6 cm above the wax at least every four hours. Extinguish the flame and allow it to cool before cutting. Watch for “mushrooming” (a buildup of sooty carbon) on the wick; cut it off as soon as you see signs of it to avoid black smoke.

To fully enjoy the subtlety of Insensum fragrances:

  • Spray lightly into the air and let the perfume settle naturally.
  • Avoid spraying directly onto fabrics, delicate surfaces, or near a flame.
  • Keep the bottle upright, away from heat and direct light.
  • For harmonious diffusion, briefly ventilate the room before use.

Our diffusers offer a gentle and constant diffusion:

  1. Dip the reeds into the bottle and let them soak for a few hours.
  2. Flip them over to activate the diffusion.
  3. To renew or intensify the scent, invert the reeds once or twice a week.
  4. Adjust the intensity by using more or fewer reeds.

Place the diffuser away from heat sources or direct sunlight to ensure even evaporation
