Description
In 1560, Catherine de Médici entrusted a secret mission to the knight Louis de Girard. Returning a year later, he picked a bouquet of lily of the valley in his garden and offered it as a good luck charm to the young King Charles IX. The following year, the King in turn offered sprigs of lily of the valley to the ladies of the court, with his compliments. He wished to make this an annual tribute. Ever since then…
Although over the years perfume engineers have used their imagination and talent to represent the lily of the valley in different ways, this fragrance has its own signature, without in any way overturning the classical codes of the genre. The flower is perfectly rendered, at once very natural, pure and simple. Poetic and refined, the scent of this beatific flower, which doesn’t lend itself to extraction, is the result of a combination of very green, incisive, vegetal first notes, giving a fresh, intense impression. These soon give way to floral notes of lily of the valley, accompanied by the finesse of rose, supported by a hint of jasmine, all united in a bower of soft green notes.
Lovers of this spring scent may continue to enjoy this fragrance in the form of incense.
